The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) has recently stated that 5G technology is completely secure. It said fears are unnecessary that the technology will cause adverse effects on public health. The COAI claims that 5G technology is safe because of all the scientific evidence available so far. It also clarified that this technology is a game-changer in the Indian telecom sector, which will bring double benefits to society and the finance sector.
It was known that the leading telecom companies Reliance, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone are known to be representing the association. However, the Telecom Operators Association has clarified that India has strict regulations regarding electromagnetic radiation emitted from telecom towers. It said the restrictions imposed by the Indian government on radiation levels were very strict compared to international standards. “Therefore, there is no need to worry about the negative effects of radiation. All of these are false fears, and this happens whenever new technology is introduced, “said COAI.
On Friday, the Delhi High Court struck down a case filed by Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla alleging adverse effects of 5G technology. On this occasion, the court expressed its indignation at the petitioners. The court commented that the case was filed merely to gain publicity and imposed a fine of Rs 20 lakh on Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla and others.
