A big blow to BJP, Former Union Minister Babul Supriyo has joined Trinamool Congress

On Saturday, Former Union Minister and former BJP MP Babul Supriyo joined the Trinamool Congress. He joined the party in the presence of TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee and Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brien.

The Trinamool Congress said in an official statement that it welcomes the Babul Supriyo into the party. He resigned from the Union Cabinet before the recent expansion of the Union Cabinet. A few weeks later he announced his retirement from politics. He revealed he had differences with some BJP leaders ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections.

He said the internal fight among the senior leaders was a loss to the party. After joining the TMC, Babul Supriyo loses the central government’s security cover of Z-category and he will get Y-category now.

Speaking to the ANI, TMC leader Kunal Ghosh told that many BJP leaders are not happy with the party and many will join in TMC.

The BJP had listed him as a star campaigner in the upcoming by-polls including bhabanipur from where Mamata Banerjee is contesting. Today, Babul Supriyo has joined in the TMC.
