After arriving in Delhi, Afghanistan Senator Narender Singh Khalsa from Afghanistan burst into tears while speaking to the media. He felt that the progress made over 20 years and all the trust that had been built up over the decades had been destroyed.
On Sunday morning, Twenty-four Sikhs, including two Afghan Senators, arrived at Hindon Air Base Airport near Delhi on an Indian Air Force special flight. Meanwhile, a C-17 aircraft transported 168 passengers from Afghanistan to India. Of these, 107 were Indians.
The government of India operates two daily flights from Kabul to India. Many citizens have already been relocated to India in the week-long process. Citizens are also being flown to India from Tajikistan and Qatar.
After arriving in Ghaziabad, the Union Health Minister has said that the Indian government is conducting Covid tests on Afghanistan returnees.
