Analysts find ‘The Family Man 2’ immature

‘The Family Man 2’ may have come to be seen as a tight espionage thriller by the common folk, but intelligence aficionados are finding it quite inane. Eelam Tamil extremists seek to assassinate the Prime Minister of India but the way the security apparatus tries to protect her is silly.

Somnath Mukherjee, a columnist, has commented that the web series is light years behind hi-class fiction shows such as ‘Fauda’ and ‘Homeland’ in terms of content. “Elite CT unit but doesn’t have BPJs, can’t call-in SWAT support, a long-retired agent has more knowledge of ciphers/protocols than serving ones,” he wrote, trashing the Manoj Bajpayee-Samantha Akkineni series.

Ram Prasad, a social media influencer, opined that the kind of resources the intelligence has in ‘The Family Man 2’ at their disposal to protect the Prime Minister is no less than laughable. “Some have pointed out the predictability being high but the issue is that an elite unit comes across as though it belongs in the 60s of a tiny country,” he writes.

The series is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
