AP CM YS Jagan met with the State Level Bankers Committee(SLBC). Speaking on the occasion, he said the economic condition of the state had slowed down due to the Covid-19. He said the country’s GDP growth rate has fallen to 7.25 per cent whereas the GDP growth rate in AP in 2020–21 was limited to 2.58 per cent.
AP CM asked Bankers to pay special attention to loans to tenant farmers. The CM said there should be a banking correspondent at every RBK(Rythu Bharosa Kendra) centre. He also stated that 22,000 people applied for grocery stores and 35,898 for dairy cattle.
He said the AP government is seeking the cooperation of bankers in the matter of women empowerment. And suggested banks take steps to provide loans of Rs 35,000 for the construction of a house. The Andhra Pradesh CM said that the state government will bear the remaining interest if the banks pay 3 per cent interest.
