AP govt declares holiday for Bank Employees on Vinayaka Chaviti

The Andhra Pradesh government has declared a holiday for bank employees on the eve of Vinayaka Chaviti. The UFBU has written to the Secretary-General of the Government to grant leave to the AP on the 10th of this month as in other states. After considering their request, the government announced leave to Vinayaka Chavati under the NI Act. The bank and insurance employees were elated with the positive response from the government.

On the other hand, opposition parties BJP, TDP, and Janasena have been outrageous over banning Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Andhra Pradesh by showing Covid-19 as the reason. Yesterday, Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan questioned, “Will Covid restrictions applicable for only Vinayaka Chavithi?” And he also questioned, “Aren’t they applicable for birthdays and festivals of YCP people’s representatives and their family members?”.

Mr Pawan Kalyan also wanted to consider the AP government to allow Vinayaka Chaviti celebrations like other states following covid-19 protocols.

BJP Leaders met AP Governor and requested to intervene in this issue and to allow Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations following covid protocols. BJP Leader Kanna made it clear that they will celebrate Vinayagar Chaturthi in pandal with or without the permission of AP CM YS Jagan.
