Basvaraj Bommai takes oath as new Karnataka CM

After BS Yediyurappa resigned as Karnataka CM, the BJP High Command has announced Basvaraj Bommai as the new Chief Minister of the state. He was serving as Home Minister of Karnataka formerly.

Basvaraj Bommai is the son of former Chief Minister of Karnataka, S. R. Bommai. He is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering and started his political career with the Janata Dal. He joined the BJP in February 2008. He was elected as a member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly from Shiggaon thrice since 2008.

Today, he takes oath as 23rd Chief Minister of Karnataka at 11 AM. And this ceremony is scheduled at Glasshouse of Raj Bhavan, Bengaluru. Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot will administer the oath of office.

Former CM BS Yediyurappa said that a good person has been elected as Karnataka CM.

PM Narendra Modi congratulates Basavaraj Bommai on taking oath as Karnataka CM and expresses confidence that he will build on the exceptional work done by their Government in the state.
