BCCI has given a new role to MS Dhoni for the T20 World Cup

Yesterday, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah confirmed the team India would play in the T20 World Cup, UAE. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, President Sourav Ganguly held a video conference with Skipper Virat Kohli and confirmed the Indian team for T20 WC after the discussion.

Mr Jay Shah also made a surprise announcement of including Former Indian Captain MS Dhoni to the Indian T20 team for the upcoming World Cup. Yes, he was added as a mentor to the team India.

Virat Kohli and the team will utilize Dhoni’ services. Under MSD captaincy, team India has won the T20 WC, ODI World Cup and the World Test Championship. He was the only Captain in the World who won all ICC trophies.

At Present, MSD is in the UAE for the IPL. After the IPL, he will be with team India for the T20 WC in UAE. MSD will wear India Jersey once again but this time as a mentor. In the WC squad, Opener Shikhar Dhawan didn’t get a chance.

Virat Kohli (Capt), Rohit Sharma (vc), KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Rahul Chahar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohd Shami.

Standby players – Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar.
