Bengal government cancels board exams of Class 10, 12

The West Bengal government has canceled Class 10 (Intermediate) and Class 12 (Upper Secondary) board examinations this year due to Covid conditions. On Monday, CM Mamata Banerjee has announced this decision. 

Earlier, Mamata Banerjee had announced that the Class 12 board exams would be held in the last week of July and the Class 10 board exams in the second week of August.  Based on the current situations in the state, the Chief Minister  has taken this decision of cancelling the board exams.


On Sunday, 7,002 new covid cases were registered in Bengal and with this, the total number of cases rose to 14,26,132. The corona death toll rose to 16,259 with 107 new deaths. The latest death toll was 34 in North 24 Parganas districts and 23 in Kolkata. A total of 13,74,419 people recovered from the corona, and the recovery rate was 96.37 percent. There are currently 35,454 Covid active cases in the state..
