On Wednesday, West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh accused Trinamool Congress MP Nusrat Jahan of insulting Indian culture. He wants her to resign immediately. And he also demanded TMC remove her from the post if she did not resign.
Speaking to a news agency, Dilip Ghosh said that Nusrat Jahan was a woman MP. She has shamed the Indian culture by applying sindoor, addressing a man as her husband and inviting the CM Mamata Banerjee to her reception(boubhat) and now she says she is not married.
Earlier this month, Nusrat Jahan has said her marriage with Nikhil Jain is not legal, valid and tenable and there is no question of divorce. She explained that her marriage to Nikhil Jain took place in Turkey according to Turkish customs and that it was not registered in India and therefore their marriage was not valid in India.
BJP MP Sanghamitra Maurya writes to Lok Sabha Speaker over TMC MP Nusrat Jahan furnishing incorrect information about her marital status, and seeks action.
