BJP leader condemns YS Jagan government’s G.O. on Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations

BJP leader Kanna Lakshminarayana said there had been attacks on Hinduism and Hindu gods since the YCP government came to power. On Tuesday, Kanna Lakshminarayana, Pathuri Nagbhushanam, Satyamurthy and VHP leaders met AP state governor Bishwabhushan Harichandan. On the occasion, BJP leaders complained to the governor about the state government’s denial of permission for the Vinayaka Chaviti celebrations. The leaders urged the governor to give permission for the Ganesh pandals in the state in accordance with the Covid regulations.

Speaking to the media, BJP leader Kanna Lakshminarayana said there had been attacks on Hinduism and Hindu gods since the YCP government came to power. And there had been no arrests made.

He condemned the government for giving G.O. stating that the Vinayaka Chavati festival was only celebrated at home. He questioned why the restrictions were only enforced on Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations when cinemas, schools and bars were running. He said that they requested the governor to intervene in this issue and asked for permission to celebrate Vinayakachavithi in the state.

He requested to permit for Ganesh chaturthi celebrations with fifty members like how the AP government has given permission for Muharram, YSR death anniversary celebrations etc., Mr Lakshminarayana made it clear that the festival would be held without the permission of the government.
