Bunny Vasu trusts AP government’s intentions

Producer Bunny Vasu of GA2 Pictures awaits the release of ‘Most Eligible Bachelor’ this Friday (October 15). In his latest interview, he talked about the plans of the Andhra Pradesh government for the movie industry.

Two weeks after a delegation of film producers, including himself, called on Minister Perni Nani, Vasu said that the government has no plans to make online ticketing a monopolistic enterprise. “It’s not legally feasible in the first place. The government merely wants to integrate online ticketing, third-party ticketing and ticketing at box-office counters at theatres. This will ensure transparency,” Vasu said.

He added that the system is far more systematic in Telangana. “As a result, tax compliance among theatres is better here. In AP, that is not the case. About 200 theatres are not declaring their genuine revenue. They have been escaping the GST ambit for years,” Vasu said, suggesting that the Jaganmohan Reddy government has got clean intentions.
