Calling Infosys anti-national is not right: Finance Minister

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that ‘Panchajanya’, an RSS-backed magazine, shouldn’t have called Infosys names. In a recent column, an author writing for the publication alleged that Infosys is in cahoots with forces that are out to destabilize the Indian economy.

“The glitches in the IT portal are being rectified. We are working with Infosys, Nandan Nilekani and several tax experts. The Institute of Chartered Accountants is also helping us out. It’s not right to call Infosys anti-national. I think Panchajanya and RSS have distanced themselves from the comments,” Sitharaman said.

The last date for filing of ITR by individuals, at this point of time, is September 30. But the same is likely to be extended till December 31 in view of the glitches.
