Captain Amarinder Singh submits his resignation as Punjab CM to Governor

As the National media stated Captain Amarinder Singh who met MLAs loyal to him at his residence ahead of the CLP convene has submitted his resignation. Mr Amarinder Singh said that he felt humiliated by the actions of Congress’ National Leadership.

Speaking to the ANI, Captain said that he is in the Congress party and will decide the future course of action after discussing with his supporters who have been with him for 52 years in his political journey. Reacting to a reporter about Punjab next CM, Amarinder Singh said whoever the party high command have faith in, can make them CM.

After stepping down as Punjab CM, Mr Amarinder Singh has immediately met Governor Banwarilal Purohit and submitted his resignation.

It was known that the turmoil in Punjab Congress Committee has been continuing for the past few months, especially between factions of Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu and CM Amarinder Singh.  Last month, four ministers and about 20 Congress MLAs have rallied against Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.
