Rajasthan Royals player Chetan Sakariya had gone through tough times in his personal life with the passing away of his father and brother in a short time. This young bowler had a good IPL recently with Rajasthan Royals. And now this youngster got a call from the BCCI.
He was selected for Sri Lanka ODI and T20I series. Speaking to Indian Express, he said,”I wish my father had been here to see this, he wanted me to play for India, I miss him a lot, I had up & down in last one year. It has been emotional – this is for my late father & my mother who allowed me to continue playing cricket”.
Indian ODI opener Shikhar Dhawan will be the captain and Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be the vice-captain for the Sri Lanka tour. As per the ANI, Dhawan and the boys to undergo 14-day quarantine in India from Monday and they will play 3 intra-squad games in Sri Lanka. This 14-day quarantine is divided into seven days hard and seven days soft quarantine in Mumbai. The team India will leave for Colombo on 28th June. Rahul Dravid will travel with this team as head coach and he is keen to give every player a chance in this Sri Lankan ODI and T20I series.
