The Congress is devising strategies for next year’s Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. It decided to join hands with only small regional parties. State Congress Committee president Ajay Kumar Lallu said this on Sunday.
Ajay told a news agency on Sunday that Congress had no plans to join hands with the big parties for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. He said it was certain that their party would come to power again in the state. The BJP, SP and BSP governments have failed to govern in line with the people’s trust. He said Congress was the main contender for the BJP in the upcoming UP assembly elections 2022.
He said that Congress would contest the elections under the leadership of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and form a government. Meanwhile, the BSP and SP have so far ruled out any alliance with Congress. Recently, Mayawati said that the BSP would contest alone in the forthcoming assembly elections in UP. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has also said their party will ally only with smaller parties.
