On Saturday, the Maharashtra Control of Crime Act (MOCA) court remanded Iqbal Kaskar, brother of gangster Dawood Ibrahim, the mastermind of the Mumbai serial blasts, to judicial custody. After police interrogation, Iqbal Kaskar was remanded in judicial custody.
Ashok Jain, an officer in the Narcotics Bureau, has investigated Kaskar’s role in drug trafficking. After two days of remand, the police sought court permission to interrogate Kaskar. Police said they had received significant clues from Kaskar regarding relations with the underworld and financial assistance to terrorists.
Iqbal Kaskar was arrested in 2017 on charges of threatening and extorting money following a complaint by a builder. It was revealed that Kaskar had threatened and collected money in the name of an underworld gang.
