Dissent in Congress worries Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Vadra

The Congress party is in power in Punjab, Rajasthan and Chattisgarh in the main. In all the three main States, the party is facing internal dissent, giving headache to Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra Gandhi.

As per columnist Rasheed Kidwai, the party high command is in a fix about how to deal with dissidence from Navjot Singh Sidhu in Punjab, Sachin Pilot in Rajasthan and TS Deo in Chattisgarh.

It’s believed that the BJP might exploit the situation in order to weaken the Grand Old Party in these States. The BJP has a track record of respecting former Congress leaders such as Himanta Biswa Sarma and Suvendu Adhikari in Assam and West Bengal, respectively.

Punjab will go to the polls in early 2022. Rajasthan and C’garh will go to the polls in December 2023
