DoT allocates spectrum for 5G trials

Here is good news for customers who have been waiting for 5G services. Another recent breakthrough in 5G services in the country. The Department of Telecom (DoT), which has recently sanctioned 5G trials, has recently allocated the relevant spectrum to telecom companies. It is known that on the 4th of this month, DOT allowed Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and MTNL to conduct 5G trials.

The 5G trials will be conducted in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and other places. The DoT has allocated 700 MHz band, 3.3- 3.6 GHz band, 24.25- 28.5 GHz band spectrum. It stipulates that no company may use Chinese technology during the conduct of trials. The trials will be held for a total of 6 months. These trials are to be conducted not only in towns and cities but also in rural and semi-urban areas.
