Here is why Sharwanand is risking with ‘OOJ’

‘Oke Oka Jeevitham’, one of the upcoming movies of Sharwanand, belongs to a rare genre. The Telugu-Tamil bilingual is a family drama with sci-fi films.

After flops like ‘Sreekaram’, Sharwanand seems to be going out of his way to experiment with a rare genre. The challenge is made even more enormous by the fact that ‘OOJ’ is being directed by a newcomer. Debutant helmer Shree Karthick may have convinced Dream Picture Warriors that he is mighty capable, but the youngster is an untested talent. It’s good that there is the mother-son sentiment angle in the film to make it somewhat of a safe bet at least in theory.

Sharwanand is lucky enough to be doing an ostensibly commercial movie like ‘Maha Samudram’ at this juncture. Directed by Ajay Bhupathi, this one too might release in Tamil besides Telugu. If ‘Oke Oka Jeevitham’ is not a tested genre, ‘Maha Samudram’ is a pole apart.
