Hindutva wing rallies behind Tejasvi Surya

Tejasvi Surya, the National President of the BJP Yuva Morcha, has been accused of communalizing the pandemic management in Bengaluru. Earlier this month, he read out 17 names of the BMC staff during a surprise inspection, suggesting that the individuals were into some sort of deliberate mismanagement. All the names that he uttered are Muslim.

Ever since the episode, which has become of the biggest pandemic-time controversies, Surya has been described as a communal bigot. The other day, ‘The Hindu’ (daily) went a step ahead and called Surya a virus in a column written by Vaishna Ray. After social media outrage, the headline was changed.

Hindutva wing, meanwhile, has only firmed up its resolve to rally behind Surya. The Bengaluru South MP has been seen as a hero whom the media is targeting because he could become the Karnataka Chief Minister one day owing to his popularity. This is what Right-Wingers on social media are saying.

Surya is favoured by Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, both of whom are said to be not keen on BS Yedyurappa.
