I spent vast sums on Mahesh Babu, Prabhas’ movies: MS Raju

MS Raju was one of the top producers in the 2000s. He was known to deliver hits during festive seasons.

In his latest interview, the ‘Dirty Hari’ director said that he had made ‘Okkadu’ at a cost of Rs 13 Cr or so. “At that time, Mahesh’s market was not beyond the Rs 5 Cr mark. However, I made the high-stakes ‘Okkadu’ with him as the hero. The huge sets had cost me a bomb,” Raju said.

‘Varsham’, which was Prabhas’ first blockbuster, was also produced by Raju. “Producers were not ready to spend more than Rs 3 Cr on a Prabhas movie at that time. I made ‘Varsham’ at a cost of more than 10 Cr,” Raju said.
Both ‘Okkadu’ and ‘Varsham’ were huge money-spinners, he added.
