ICC reserves a day for WTC final between India vs Newzealand

After IPL 2021 was cancelled due to the Covid outbreak, everyone’s eyes were on the maiden WTC final between India and Newzealand. The Kiwis will play a two-match test series against England before the WTC final. The Black Caps will play their first Test on 2nd June and the second test on 10th June.  The WTC final will start on 18th June at Southampton. On 27th May, Kane Williamson XI will play a practise match against Latham XI before the England Test series commence.

Coming to the team India, Virat Kohi, Rohit Sharma, Ashwin and all other players selected for WTC final and England Test Series have joined the bio-bubble in Mumbai. BCCI has made all arrangements including all gym facilities for players to work on without coming out of the bio-bubble. In the first week, team India will fly to England.

ICC has been making all arrangements for the maiden WTC final. It is keen to get a result in this maiden WTC final. As per TOI, “ICC has reserved a day for the final if 30 hours is not played due to rain influence. This final should happen for 30 hours in five days. “

This World Test Championship is like the World Cup for the players who only play Test matches and those who didn’t get a chance to represent their nation in the ODI World Cup.
