Indian government approves Johnson and Johnson’s single-dose Covid-19 vaccine

Earlier, Johnson and Johnson’s has applied to the Indian government for its single-dose Covid-19 vaccine usage in the country. Today, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has confirmed the approval of J&J’s single-dose vaccine for emergency use.

He also said with this decision, India now has five EUA vaccines to fight against Covid-19. Already, Russia’s Sputnik V is also approved and its manufacturing will also be started soon. At Present, it’s been testing how far it would be effective on Indians. Soon, its production will be started and available for use.

In India, Covishield and Covaxin have been massively inoculated. Yesterday, the Union Health Minister met Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawalla and discussed ramping up the vaccine production.

In India, so far 50cr covid-19 vaccines have been administered to date.  The experts are stressing to follow covid protocols despite being inoculated with two jabs. Mask is mandatory although vaccinated.
