On Day 4, the Headingley pitch is favourable to batting and experts say English bowlers need to toil hard. But Pujara and Kohli who played brilliantly on Day 3 struggled a lot today.
Pujara who made an awesome 91 runs yesterday was gone for LBW to Ollie Robinson on the same score. Virat Kohli who survived from the DRS has gone after making 55 runs. This is his first fifty in the series.
Pujara’s 91 is the highest score since January 2019. After Robinson, James Anderson struck for England and dismissed Ajinkya Rahane for 10. Both Ollie Robinson and James Anderson has been bowling really well. Again Robinson strikes and dismisses Pant for just one run.
As Rohit Sharma said, to be in the competition, Indian batsmen have to really fought well. Sadly, team India lost all its batsmen, now the match is in the hands of bowlers to save from the shameful innings defeat.
After Lord’s defeat, England bowlers have come out strong and stood tall by exposing the team India’s weakness in middle-order. With the heroics of Rohit and Pujara, team India has made a great comeback on Day 3. But shockingly, it is a disasterous fall on Day 4.
And the skipper Joe Root has to lead the team from the front with an incredible ton. Joe Root innings made the difference, especially in this match. Team India need to make some changes in the middle-order for the next match.
