IPL 2021 resumes in UAE

The Indian Premier League 2021 has stalled after coaches of CSK followed by players from different franchises have tested positive. Later, one of the BCCI officials said that the remaining IPL matches will be held before the T20 world cup and if there is no decline in Covid second wave, they will opt for either UAE or South Africa to consider for the rest of IPL matches.

According to the TOI, the second phase of IPL 2021 will resume in UAE from 15th September-15th October. In this phase, 31 matches including four knock-out games will be played. And there is a chance that the BCCI will ask the ECB to reduce a 9-day gap between the second and third test match in the five-match England Test series. So far, the BCCI didn’t approach this.

One of the BCCI officials says resuming IPL 2021 in September will give a better practise team India and other players before the T20 World Cup. An official announcement over the IPL second phase will be made on 29th May after the special general meeting.
