Jayalalithaa’s fans, critics wait for ‘Thalaivii’

‘Thalaivii’ is all set to hit the cinemas on September 10 in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. Since the theatrical release will be followed by digital streaming of the Hindi version within a short period, three multiplex chains have decided to boycott the biopic.

Meanwhile, both the fans and critics of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa are waiting for the Kangana Ranaut-starrer. They are hoping that the film will present the life and times of the late AIADMK leader without fear or favour.

‘Queen’, the web series, also chronicled her life but it was not touted to be a biopic. AL Vijay has directed ‘Thalaivii’ with the sole aim of telling everything about Jaya’s life. But the director comes with an almost zero track record of impressing the non-Tamil audience. Can this film be his first non-Tamil hit? Let’s wait and watch.
