After the infamous Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919 in Punjab’s Amritsar, a court case in which Sankaran Nair put out a strong case against the British Raj ensued. A film on the courtroom incidents will now be made in Bollywood.
To be produced by Karan Johar, the film is going to be directed by Karan Singh Tyagi. To be based on the book ‘The Case That Shook The Empire’, the patriotic film will bring out how Nair’s arguments ignited the spirit of patriotism in thousands of youngsters across the country.
“Extremely excited and honoured to be bringing the untold story of C. Sankaran Nair, a historic man to the big screens,” wrote Dharma Productions’ Karan Johar, making the announcement.
The film’s cast and crew details are yet to be made public.
