Kejriwal government extends lockdown for another week

CM Arvind Kejriwal has announced that the lockdown in the national capital, Delhi will be extended for another week. The Delhi CM has taken this decision due to the rise of  Covid deaths. On Saturday, 6430 cases were registered in Delhi. The health of 11591 people improved.

The positive cases have been on the rise in Delhi since the last week of March. The situation in the state has become alarming with daily 5000 covid cases. With this, the government has taken preventive measures. The Kejriwal government initially enforced the weekend curfew and then enforced it all week.

However, the lockdown was announced on the 19th of last month as the situation did not change. At first, it was said that it was a week, but they kept extending it again and again.

Special trains suspended:

Southern Railway said in a statement that it was cancelling four special trains temporarily. Special trains to Central-Alappuzha (02639,02640), Mangalore Central-Thiruvananthapuram (06629, 06630), Ernakulam-Karaikal (06187, 06188), Punalur-Madurai (06729, 06730) will be cancelled till 31st of this month.
