Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has announced that it aims to strengthen its position in the mid-SUV segment. Currently Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos are leading in the mid-SUV segment. Despite the Maruti S-Cross being there in the market, it failed to attract buyers. Although the car was launched in August with a completely new engine, the management didn’t procure the expected results. With this, it is planned to introduce a new car in this segment.
Shashank Srivastava, executive director of the company, said that despite the good sales of the Vitara Brezza in the entry SUV segment, their market share in the mid-SUV segment was very small. And told their aim was to strengthen in that segment.
Shashank clarified that they are designing the new car in the mid-SUV segment. And he also said that it is not possible to announce its details.
