Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown the door to Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Prakash Javadekar. Vardhan was severely criticized by the media when the second wave hit India this Summer. His handling was seen as incompetent. Ravi Shankar Prasad is seen as a weak Minister who has failed to stand up to the might of social media giants like Twitter. Prakash Javadekar was seen as a not-so-strong I&B Minister.
As reported by sections of national media, the President of India has already accepted the resignation of 12 Council of Ministers. Besides the above-mentioned names, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal too has tendered his resignation.
As many as 43 names, both old and new, have made to the new list of 77 Cabinet Ministers.
Commentators are of the view that Modi has balanced the caste and regional arithmetic this time.
