Mohanlal’s Marakkar is not for OTT

These covid times have been creating a lot of uncertainty over the theatrical business across the nation. Due to this, some small and medium budget films have been opting for OTT release.

With this, there have been several speculations surfaced as Complete actor, Mohanlal’s Marakkar is releasing on OTT.  Of these speculations, director Priyadarshan has clarified to sify.com that that 100cr budget film like Marakkar is meant for only theatrical release. The people will enjoy the core on big screens. He clearly said that he, Mohanlal, producer and distributor Antony Perumbavoor will wait for any number of months to release the film in theatres.

And he also questioned which OTT platform would offer him 150cr for Marakkar digital rights including the cost of production and landing cost. He said that the theatrical rights were already sold and it will be released in Amazon Prime after its theatrical release only. Finally, it will be streamed on Television after the digital release.

The director is pretty confident about Marakkar The Lion of Arabian Sea and it will be released in all major Indian languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. Marakkar is slated for the grand release on 12th August 2021.
