MP wants a ban on Samantha’s ‘The Family Man 2’

Vaiko, the Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, has urged the Centre to stop the release of ‘The Family Man 2’, the Hindi-language espionage thriller to be streamed on Amazon Prime from June 4.

Vaiko has written to the I&B Minister, saying that the web series shows Tamil people as LTTE terrorists and ISI agents with close links to Pakistan. He described the activities of LTTE as sacrifices by the Tamil ethnic people.

“Samantha, who is a Tamil-speaking actress, has been shown to have links with Pakistan in the series. These depictions are hurtful and offensive,” he wrote in the letter.

Vaiko adds that the people of Tamil Nadu will react seriously if the show is not banned. “The government of India will have to face consequences,” he adds.
