NIH Director quotes study proving Covaxin’s efficacy

Covaxin, the made-in-India vaccine, has got a thumbs up from a new study. Francis S Collins, the Director of the National Institutes of Health, US, himself has quoted the study on his official Twitter handle.

Taking to social media, the expert tweeted, “COVAXIN, an inactivated-virus vaccine with an adjuvant discovered with NIH support, has 77.8% efficacy against symptomatic COVID-19 and no safety concerns in a published interim analysis of a randomized, controlled trial with more than 25,000 adults in India.”

Several Netizens are happy about the finding, especially because the study raises the prestige of the Indian vaccine. Also, crores of Indians have taken the vaccine already.

Netizens are also trolling health journalists who have been writing against Covaxin in Indian and foreign publications.
