Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the phone. Their conversation went for 45 minutes. And they both discussed the current situation in Afghanistan in detail.
Modi tweeted that he had a detailed and useful exchange of views on recent developments in Afghanistan. He also mentioned that they have discussed issues on the bilateral agenda, including India-Russia cooperation against COVID-19. And both the global leaders agreed to continue their close consultations on important issues.
On the other hand, Nasir Ahmad Andisha, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan said that the human rights system cannot and should not wait and see what is happening in Afghanistan. He demanded that the people of their country need immediate attention and action.
Currently, the first meeting in the 31st Special Session of the UN Human Rights Council is underway in Geneva to recognise the promotion & protection of human rights in Afghanistan’, as quoted by the ANI.
