Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has passed strict orders to those coming from Himachal Pradesh and Jammu. In these states, the covid positivity rate has been on the rise. As per his orders, those who are travelling from aforesaid states to Punjab must carry a negative RTPCR report or full vaccination certificate(two doses). He also ordered stringent monitoring at the borders.
On the other hand, Kerala has a more than 12 test positivity rate. And the state government allowed shops, restaurants to open with some restrictions. But it doesn’t allow movie theatres in the state. As per the government officials, it will take more time to re-open theaters in the state, until and unless the TPR will be below 5%.
The Union Health Ministry has released the Covid bulletin in the last 24 hours. In the country, 38,667 new covid cases have been registered and 35,743 have been recovered. With this, total recoveries in India are up to 3,13,38,088 and the active caseload is 3,87,673.
The Weekly positivity rate is 2.05% which is truly encouraging. So far, 53.61 crore covid vaccines have been administered. Due to Covid-19, 478 new deaths were reported and with this, the total death toll rose to 4,30,732.
