Rahul Gandhi proposes a full lockdown

Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday favoured a full lockdown in the country. He said that the government is not able to fathom the gravity of the situation and therefore not imposing a total lockdown.

“GOI doesn’t get it. The only way to stop the spread of Corona now is a full lockdown- with the protection of NYAY for the vulnerable sections. GOI’s inaction is killing many innocent people,” the Wayanad MP tweeted out.

This is an about-turn from Gandhi. In September last year, he described lockdown as an attack on the youth and the working class. Congress-ruled States such as Rajasthan, Punjab and Chattisgarh themselves don’t have a full lockdown.
