Rahul Gandhi puts demands before the President over Lakhimpur Kheri violence

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi has said that he has handed over all the details of the Lakhimpur violence to President Ramnath Kovind. In this regard, a delegation of Congress leaders led by Rahul handed over a memorandum to the President.

Speaking to the media, Rahul Gandhi told they have asked President Ramnath Kovind for an impartial inquiry as the father of the accused in the incident was the Home Minister. And also said they wanted to remove Ajay Mishra Teni from office.  He said another demand had been put before the President to hold a hearing with two sitting judges of the Supreme Court over this incident.

Rahul reiterated justice would be done in the Lakhimpur violence only when Union Minister Ajay Mishra resigned or was removed from the ministry.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said the president had promised to talk to the government today over the Lakhimpur incident. The press conference was attended by Mallikarjuna Kharge, AK Antony, Ghulam Nabi Azad and others.
