Rana Daggubati’s movie heads for a TV-Digital release

Rana Daggubati-starrer ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’, the Hindi version of ‘Aranya’, couldn’t hit the cinemas in March this year. It was planned to be a Summer release but the second wave worsened the situation in Maharashtra. So, the Hindi market could never get revived.

After several months of wait, the makers have decided to release it simultaneously on Television and OTT. The hybrid release will happen on September 18 on Zee Cinema, while Eros Now will stream it on its platform from the same day.

It may be noted that ‘Aranya’ and its Tamil version flopped hugely when they released on March 26 this year. The forest adventure film, which is directed by Prabhu Solomon, couldn’t get even decent openings. That week, Nithiin’s ‘Rang De’ got okayish openings but it too flopped.
