Rishabh Pant tests positive for COVID-19

Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has been tested positive for Covid-19. As per the Tribune, he is afflicted by the Delta variant. Mr Pant has been in self-isolation for the past eight days and he is not travelling to Durham with the rest of Team India.

The BCCI has confirmed that only Rishabh has been tested positive and he is asymptomatic. The rest of the team tested negative. Pant took his 1st jab on 13th May and he was spotted at Wembley Stadium during the England-Germany match of the Euro Cup.

It was known that team India has been given a 20-day long break after the WTC final.  BCCI expects that Pant will be fit before the start of the England Test series. The first Test match between India and England will be started on 4th August.
