Sharwanand registers fifth flop in a row

Sharwanand has registered his fifth box-office flop in a row. ‘Maha Samudram’ has turned out to be a non-starter, if credible trade reports are anything to go by. Although it was released a day before Vijaya Dashami, it couldn’t sustain the momentum. Released on October 14, the Ajay Bhupathi directorial has failed to steal a march from ‘Most Eligible Bachelor’, which came a day later in theatres.

‘Maha Samudram’, which was released amid a huge hype, marks Sharwanand’s second flop in 2021. ‘Sreekaram’, which was released for Shiva Ratri in March, was a flop.

Unfortunately for the ‘Shatamanam Bhavati’ actor, competitor movies have played the spoilsport in both cases. ‘Sreekaram’ was released on the day ‘Jathi Ratnalu’ was released. Had it not been for ‘Jathi Ratnalu’, ‘Sreekaram’ would have attained break-even easily. And in the case of ‘Maha Samudram’, the release of ‘MEB’ has put a spanner in the prospects.
