Due to the hike in Petrol, Diesel, and Gas prices, the common man in India has been facing a financial crunch. The rise in Petrol prices has resulted in shattering the middle-class monthly budget plans.
While the opposition parties have been staging a protest against the Central government over the hike in Petrol, Diesel, and Gas prices in the Parliament, the Tamil Nadu government has taken a remarkable decision of reducing state excise duty by three rupees on Petrol price. This decision favours many.
In DMK’ poll promises, it assured to deduce five rupees on Petrol. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman earlier said that state governments can cut the price by reducing state taxes on Petrol, Diesel. The same RBI governor also expressed and suggested both State and Central governments discuss this and come up with a decision that favours the common man.
In Tamil Nadu, more than 2.6 crores of people are using two-wheelers and this decision of the state government will benefit all of them. This decision will put the state in a deficit of Rs 1,160 crores. Today, TN Finance Minister P Thiaga Rajan has introduced the first paperless budget in the State Assembly.
In the budget, the government allocates Rs 5,369 crore for the higher education department for 2021-22. Tamil Nadu will start smart classes in 25 colleges this year. And also 10 new arts & science colleges will be established.
