‘Thalaivi’ junks private matters to avoid controversies

‘Thalaivi’, the Jayalalithaa biopic, stars Kangana Ranaut in the titular role. The multi-lingual, directed by AL Vijay, will hit the cinemas later this year.

In his latest interview, writer Vijayendra Prasad has opened up about the biopic. When the host of ‘Ali Tho Saradaga’ asked him whether the biopic has stayed true to the Late Tamil Nadu CM’s life, Prasad diplomatically answered that her personal life hasn’t been shown much in the film. “There are some incidents related to her private life. They have not been portrayed in our biopic,” Prasad, who is known for ‘Baahubali’ and ‘RRR’, said.

He added that a biopic shouldn’t tell lies but it can ignore some truths. It seems this has been done by ‘Thalaivi’ to avoid courting controversies.

Kangana Ranaut, who was recently banned by Twitter, has been paired up with Aravind Swamy in the Telugu-Tamil-Hindi film.
