The Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce has highlighted a few pressing issues that need immediate attention for the benefit of the ailing exhibition sector. In a statement today, the Chamber spoke of the biggest concerns troubling the theatres.
The Chamber said that the parking fee system has been a lifeline of the sector and therefore, the theatres have to be permitted to collect a nominal parking fee in the State. Without this, their business viability will continue to face headwinds.
The Chamber also said that the Minimum Demand electricity charges have to be waived for the period of the lockdown. Also, the property tax has to be relaxed for two years, the Chamber said. “Please also reduce the State GST,” the Chamber added.
