Some states are announcing that the Corona vaccination drive will not start from 1st May on Saturday for those above 18 years of age due to the unavailability of stocks. While the Delhi government has already announced that it will not start the vaccination drive due to a lack of stocks, the Tamil Nadu government has also recently expressed its displeasure.
Tamil Nadu Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan told the media that the vaccine drive would not start from May 1 as there was not enough vaccine. He said the supply had not yet reached them and did not know when it would arrive. He said the state government had ordered 1.5 crore vaccines. He said only those above 45 years of age have adequate reserves. However, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Punjab and Jharkhand are also among the states facing a shortage of vaccine supply.
