Third wave will come late: Expert

Experts are dishing out contradictory opinions on the third wave of coronavirus. Some are saying it will come by July or August. Dr NK Arora, Chairman of the COVID Working Group (ICMR), has said that the third wave will arrive belatedly.

Speaking to ANI, he opined that we have a long window of opportunity before the wave arrives. The expert added that the Indian population has to be substantially vaccinated in the coming months. Dr Arora suggested that the wave won’t arrive in the next six months.

It’s expected that 10 million doses will be administered per day from August. Last week, the Centre told the Supreme Court that 135 crore doses will be available by the end of this year. The number will be adequate to fully vaccinate all adults above the age of 18.
