“Uncleji only way West Bengal’s “grim situation” will improve is if you move your sorry self back to Delhi and find another job.” These are the words of Mahua Moitra, the Lok Sabha MP, who belongs to the TMC. She was tweeting the words to West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, who has been touring and bringing out the truth about the post-poll violence in the State. TMC activists have been allegedly targeting BJP leaders and cadres ever since the May 2nd election results.
Moitra further asked the Governor to become an advisor to UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath. She added that he should become an advisor to the Home Minister on how best to hide during a pandemic.
The MP has been slammed for being disrespectful to the Governor, who holds a Constitutional position. “This isn’t just an abusive Parliamentarian, which she is. But this is also a cynical ploy to pitchfork herself and her party into the national discourse. These low-brow attacks will generate outrage and keep TMC in the headlines. That is the motto,” wrote columnist Sreemoy Talukdar.
BJP spokesperson Guru Prakash Paswan wrote that he is amazed at the audacity of leaders who can undermine the Constitution and its institutions with ease. “Please have some respect for the makers of the Constitution like Babasaheb Ambedkar who were clearly more visionary and farsighted than you, Aunty Ji,” he added.
