There seems to be no truth in the ongoing propaganda that Underworld don Chhota Rajan is dead due to Covid-19. He was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on April 26 and is being treated for Covid-19. On Friday, the National media reported that Chhota Rajan had died.
However, after a while, quoting an AIIMS spokesperson, popular news agency ANI reported on Friday that Chhota Rajan was not dead, he was still alive. It was known that Chhota Rajan was arrested in 2015 and lodged in Tihar Jail in New Delhi. There, he contracted Covid-19 and was admitted to AIIMS. About 70 criminal cases are pending against Rajan. These include cases of robbery and murder.
All these were transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). A special court has also been set up to hear the case.
Chhota Rajan was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2018 for allegedly murdering a journalist in Mumbai in 2011. However, a CBI court in Mumbai recently acquitted Rajan and his accomplice in the Hanif Lakdawala murder case.
