Indian Skipper Virat Kohli has confirmed that it was his last IPL as Royal Challengers Bangalore captain. The team which has been reached playoffs with their brilliant performances as a unit has been completely failed to deliver in the eliminator.
King Kohli, AB De Villiers, and Maxwell have been failed to play the crucial knock in the important match which resulted in the loss of the match to KKR. KKR won the match with four wickets. For the first time in his career, Virat shed tears after the match. Not only Kohli but also ABD got emotional after yesterday match.
It was hard for anyone to go cupless after all the hard work, especially for a skipper who announced his last season as RCB captain. RCB has a loyal fanbase. Despite it hasn’t won the IPL trophy for 14 seasons, the fans have supported their team like anything. They were stood by their skipper and the team at all times.
Virat is right. He has given his 120% for the team RCB right from his debut for the franchise. He and Pollard were the only players who represented a franchise for a long time in IPL history. King Kohli’s association with RCB was 14 years.
Virat achieved many milestones in IPL. He played 140 matches as RCB Captain, he won 66 and lost 70. He was the only one who scored most runs, hundreds, the fifties in a single edition. He scored 973 runs in 2016 IPL including four centuries and seven fifties.
He was also the only player who had most centuries and fifties in IPL history.
Post-match press conference, Virat said, “I tried my best to create a culture in this team to express for all players and I have given 120% as a captain and will give them more as a player from next year”. And also said, “Loyalty matters for me, I can’t see myself playing for any other franchise in my IPL career”.
