When Deepak Chahar was rejected by Former Indian coach

In Yesterday’s match, Deepak Chahar’s heroics not only rescued team India single-handedly  from a grave situation but also made it to clinch the series 2-0. Team India coach Rahul Dravid has sent Deepak Chahar in place of Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and he batted till the end and took the team to the shores of victory.

He made unbeaten 69 runs(82) with 7 fours and a six. He came to the crease when team India was 160/6 to chase down the Sri Lankan total of 276 runs. The entire cricketing world is lauding Chahar’s brilliant innings under pressure.

But he was rejected by a former Indian coach and also told him to choose a different occupation.  That coach was none other than Greg Chappel. During his tenure, a lot of senior players including Dada(Sourav), Sachin were unhappy. Especially, Dada has been under a lot of pressure.

Former Indian pacer, Venkatesh Prasad has revealed that Greg Chappel rejected Deepak Chahar at RCA for his height and told to look for another occupation. The 90s Superstar said to believe in yourself and don’t take overseas coaches too seriously.

This is what Venkatesh Prasad tweeted, ” Deepak Chahar Was rejected by Greg Chappell at RCA for his height and told to look at a different occupation. And he single handedly won a match with not even his primary skills. Moral of the story- Believe in yourself and don’t take overseas coaches too seriously.”
